Banking for Love

Tom DeFelice carries a bit of motor oil in his veins and has “car guy” imprinted on his DNA, but he didn’t plan on a career selling cars. The president and owner of Circle BMW in Eatontown, DeFelice started working at his family’s Chevrolet dealership in Lincroft when he was 12, working in the parts, service and detailing departments.story

After college, he traveled and worked for several companies, including a small car rental business in Miami and a chain of pizza restaurants that eventually became Domino’s in Shadyside and Wintersville. Once he started his own operation, DeFelice wanted oven-fried pizza in Wintersville to taste the same as it did in Shadyside, and that meant centralizing production.

He made some bad choices in his early years that almost bankrupted the company, and he has had to make tough decisions along the way. But he believes the rewards have been worth the risk. He has three daughters and six grandchildren, including a granddaughter who is also a lawyer. He is active in the community and serves on the Catholic Neighborhood Center board of directors, a shelter and soup kitchen for the homeless in Wheeling.
